Our Hornets have continued to navigate through the fall semester, having now completed three full weeks of school. Our attendance sits at 98%, extracurricular teams are performing exceptionally well at various scrimmages and tournaments, and our students are actively engaged in learning. Yes – the fall semester is fully underway.
Our elementary teachers have begun to conduct initial benchmarks to help us design instructional opportunities that help all students achieve success. Secondary teachers are moving along their curricula and working to capitalize on the gains we have had. Administratively, the first ever Muffins with Moms was a huge success last week, and we are looking forward to several other opportunities to invite our parents to our school.
Our football teams have officially finished all of their scrimmages and have their first official football game scheduled for this upcoming Friday. This Friday’s game takes place at home against Medina – please come out to support our football team, cheerleaders, and band as we begin this year’s football season. Our varsity volleyball team did an excellent job at the Strawn Tournament this past weekend and ended the tournament in third place. Cross-country squads continue to prepare for their first meet, which takes place in a few weeks.
Our new principal, Mr. Feist, has done a marvelous job of balancing many hats these first few weeks of school. Our community thrives on his excitement and fantastic ideas. If you have not had the opportunity to meet Mr. Feist, please feel free to stop by the school and meet him. Our week ahead is a busy one: we have a volleyball tournament on Thursday and Saturday at Zephyr, an important football game against Medina at home on Friday at 7:30PM, and a big pep-rally Thursday at 3:45PM to conclude our week. #ChooseRochelle
