Staff at Rochelle ISD have been busy this summer working on a number of projects as we approach the start of the 2020-2021 school year. As many of you are aware, plans for how school will look are currently being designed and vetted by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Please know that the guidance that they provide will be implemented as intended at Rochelle ISD. Our personally designed four-day school week model will be implemented starting this fall – we have continued to remain excited about all of the opportunities this presents to our district. Regardless of how next year starts, proceeds, and concludes, our shared goals, philosophies, and campus culture will remain centered on student safety and student achievement.
This summer, our maintenance and custodial teams have developed and implemented procedures to refine our protocols for disinfecting and sanitizing our classrooms and common areas. The maintenance team also has worked on major modifications to our Ag-CTE classroom and shop. Additionally this summer, we have installed a new intercom/phone system and have repaired, replaced, and updated our technology equipment.
Registration for all Hornets (both returning Hornets and new Hornets) will take place in the Rochelle ISD cafeteria from 5PM to 7PM on Wednesday, July 22nd, Thursday, July 23rd, and Monday, July 27th. All families must bring a water bill, electricity bill, or other similar document to determine residency. Students and families new to the district will need to bring their student’s social security card as well as the student’s birth certificate. At enrollment, students in junior high and high school will be able to pick up their class schedules. Notifications regarding transfers have been mailed; please contact the school if you have not received your notification by the end of this week.
The Rochelle ISD Meet the Teacher will take place on Thursday, July 30 starting at 6PM. As has become common during these unique times, this date and time may change based on developments over the next couple of weeks. Any changes to events will be posted on our new website as well as the Rochelle ISD App (available for free on both the App Store and on Google Play). Please contact the office at 325-243-5224 if you have any questions. #ChooseRochelle
