Week one of school is in the books. We had big adjustments and we all survived. Thanks to everyone for all your support. Teachers are getting a well deserved massage.
What a great day to be a Hornet. We change the game plan and our Hornets do not miss a beat. You have to wear a mask!! Oh no!! Man our kids rock. They put on a mask head to school and continue to be the best I could ask for. Way to go Rochelle ISD students!! #chooserochelle
Rochelle ISD is hosting coffee in the morning every Thursday starting tomorrow. We will open up at 7:30 until the Java and jokes are gone. Check in at the office. Bring a mask. We will have the coffee.
HS volleyball parents: I know Saturday’s scrimmage at TLCA is closed to fans but wanted to let you know the time has been moved up. We will play @10am now and will be leaving Rochelle @ 8am. Thank you - Coach McGann
Mask are required for 4th graders and up. Sorry that was not clarified.
Rochelle ISD has begun to modify our actions and activities in school due to close contact with an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19. At this time, no student or staff member has tested positive, and all changes are exclusively precautionary and under the direction and guidance provided by TEA. A Rochelle student's parent has tested positive for COVID-19 and a teacher was in close contact with an individual that has tested positive (that contact was within two days of the individual showing symptoms). According to TEA, anyone in direct contact with a lab-tested positive individual is to be quarantined for 14 days. That teacher will continue to provide instruction remotely while staff members monitor that teacher’s classes.
The safety of all Rochelle students and staff members remains our main concern, so starting Wednesday, August 5th, all faculty and students will be required to wear masks while at school when social distancing is not practiced or able to be practiced. For example, if a child is at their desk, he or she can remove his or her mask; when they get up to sharpen a pencil, go to the restroom, or line up for lunch, they will need to have their mask on. If your child has a mask, he or she can wear it to school. The school has a limited supply of reusable and disposable masks that can be given out. When supplies are gone, students will be responsible for their own masks. For classroom procedures, parents can contact their child's teacher. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dave Lewis at dlewis@rochelleisd.net or call 325-243-5224 or 325-456-1086.
This just in from Mr. Holubec:
Rochelle Family,
Thank you for bearing with us in this new school year. With the challenges that Covid-19 poses, we continue to make student safety our top priority. As the days progress, we will continually monitor and adjust our procedures, where needed, to make the school days as normal as possible and run as smooth as possible.
With this in mind, we are going to tweak the after school pick up process. Starting today, all car riders will be pickup at one location, where the elementary students were picked up yesterday (outside the tennis courts). This should help to alleviate some of the congestion and help the flow of traffic. Please remember to stay in your vehicles during the pickup process.
On another note, David Baker asked me to share the morning bus stop schedule. The first bus will leave the bus stop at 7:20 while the second bus will arrive approximately at 7:20. The Second bus will leave the bus stop at 7:30.
Again thank you for your patience as we continue to adjust to our new year.
